A fundamental element of our success to date is our strong, formalised project process methodology. It is designed to provide clear communication throughout the project and a constant focus on achieving your desired business outcomes, in order to mitigate risks and ensure your expectations are met, if not exceeded.
Our project process methodology is based on the internationally recognised standard PRINCE2, which stands for Projects in Controlled Environments version 2. This method embodies proven and established best-practice in project management. Thus, by employing this methodology, we are confident that we can ensure any given project requirement can be met, such as the stringent conformance to a relevant ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standard, but more importantly, that our client's expectations are managed and met, if not exceeded.
Under this methodology, project planning is delivery-based, which means the project plans are focused on delivering results rather than simply planning when the various activities of the project will be done. The deliverables themselves are defined by the project's business case, which describes the client's requirements, rationale and commitment to the outcomes. The business case is regularly reviewed during the project to ensure the business objectives, which often change during the lifecycle of a project, are still being met.
Under this methodology the project is divided into manageable delivery-focussed stages, as this enables:
- Each project stage to be defined by the specific deliverables and activities required to be carried out to achieve them.
- Efficient resource management at both our end and the client's end
- Regular reviews of progress against the project plan and business case
- Swift management of any deviations from the plan or business case
- The involvement of stakeholders at the right time during the project
There are often many different people involved in projects from the client, one or more suppliers, and of course the MassMedia team. Our process is designed to provide open and clear communication between all the people involved. This is accomplished by ensuring that everyone fully understands the process and the various roles and responsibilities therein. Thus, there is a close liaison between the project managers, resources, and client stakeholders throughout the project's life-cycle.
We understand that processes are ultimately about risk mitigation. Most project failures are due to assumptions regarding project objectives that result in the true business objectives not being met, or poor management and control of resources and activities to meet planning, resulting time and budget blow-outs. All of the above aspects of our processes, from being business case focussed to ensuring continual clear and open communication, are calculated so that together they contribute to the mitigation of such risks.
