Title: Marketing Executive Sydney

Marketing Executive

Job Description

As the Marketing Executive for MassMedia Studios you will utilise your writing and communication skills to implement our communication plan across our forthcoming blog, website, podcast and newsletter campaigns. We're looking for someone with a sharp mind and astute observations skills to help us re-invigorate our marketing dogma.

You are an amazingly gifted wordsmith and your friends often comment that "you should be in marketing" (better that than having a "face for radio"). Your own blog or podcast is picking up steam and you want to develop your skills in a more professional capacity. You're probably working on a script for this year's Tropfest, have penned the first few chapters to your book or you've never left the safe confines of your diary. Or perhaps you're a wannabe media mogul mixing up video/audio productions in your bedroom. Either way, you're a very clever writer who can turn a good phrase, you could put spin on a global disaster or can make people stop and think about what they're reading.

Alternatively, you're currently in marketing - pumping out brochure-ware (or you would be if the boss would just sign-off on the bloody copy) and you dream of cashing in on this whole digital marketing malarkey but the right job has never come along… until now.

If this sounds like you or the you you'd rather be, then please write to us and tell us why you'd make an excellent Marketing Executive working for "The world's best digital interactive agency, ever"*. Don't just send us your resume with a boring covering letter, make us want you, make us need you or make us a cake.

What you'll be doing when you get here:

  • Managing our internal communications
  • Liaising with our PR agency
  • Writing case studies
  • Writing and editing our Newsletters (yes, plural)
  • Blogging
  • Podcasting (if you're up for it)
  • Maintaining our website (not our current website, no-one should be tortured with that task)
  • Working on client pitches and proposals
  • Working with a creative team of designers, producers, developers and other people who do other stuff
  • Use simple, brief and clear writing and effective visuals to optimise the organisation's offering to our customers
  • Liaise with key contacts within the Agency to obtain specific information and updates for bid responses
  • Build up a repository of proposal templates and pitching assets
  • Provide the Sales and Client Management teams with best-in-class sales materials while enabling them to maximise customer-facing time
  • Occasional face-to-face customer contact and basic research required

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of interactive technologies and the digital marketing landscape
  • Demonstrated experience in creative writing skills / business writing skills / marketing / journalism / corporate communications
  • Master of the English language (oral and written) and business acumen
  • Experience in the proposal/bid process
  • Communications, Marketing, Agency or Consulting work experience desirable
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Ability to integrate responses to complex questions to form a unified message under tight timelines
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, deliver results and manage multiple tasks without compromising quality
  • Ability to work in a highly pressured and challenging environment
  • Self motivated can-do attitude

As you can see there is a lot of variety in the role. We're looking for someone with great ambition, passion and communication smarts. Could this be you?

10 Reasons To Work With Us

  1. At Massmedia studios, the work we do is varied and often challenging. We all live to work - every single one of us. We'd love to work on the weekends too, but the boss won't let us.
  2. Beer o'clock starts at 5 on Fridays and then we present our work to each other, which is a nice way to share (Awwwww). Then we have a big team hug, high-five each other, form a human pyramid and sometimes finish with a little towel flicking.
  3. We're approachable, enthusiastic and bursting at the seams with great ideas. Well, some of them are great - others are turkeys - you decide.
  1. We have a range of cutesy desk ornaments that allude to that oft sought after design credibility.
  2. We're located in an open floor plan work place with views of the city (well, parts of it) and we're close to Oxford Street, Central, China Town, the City and Hades.
  3. Oxygen and sunlight are provided free to all full-time members of staff. *
  1. We have tea, coffee, and, sometimes, milk. Each desk comes with a chair, monitor, keyboard and mouse, plus, internet access is free.
  2. We have a big red pool table with resizable pockets, a drum kit and a ping-pong table. **
  3. Unlike the Vatican you can wear shorts or even a skirt around the office. If you're one of those "serious" types you can still wear a suit if you need to shake hands and kiss babies. Essentially our dress code is quite relaxed, though happy pants and Hypercolour t-shirts may be met with some derision.
  4. There are no cats in the building. Some people think that it's uncool to not have a cat, but other people, often those with allergies, think it's great. So this could be a good reason, or a bad one, but we doubt it's a deal breaker.

* Freelancers are expected to supply their own breathing apparatus.

** If you're thinking of working with us, can you bring some ping-pong balls with you? Ours keep mysteriously disappearing...
